In the current issue of economic sociology. perspectives and conversations, editor Jeanne Lazarus and contributors explore how economic
sociology can contribute to public and political debates through its concepts, methods,

In a new MPIfG Discussion Paper, Leon Wansleben identifies “mismatch crises” in the transition to renewable energy. While the transition to renewable sources such as wind and solar is gaining pace, the adaptation of electricity infrastructure and institutions of governance lags behind. However, identifying such mismatch crises does not imply a need to slow down the transition. Rather, it is crucial to explore much-needed reforms in order to create the institutional and societal conditions required for an energy supply based on renewable sources.
