New MPIfG Book: Architectures of Hope by Moisés Kopper

December 22, 2022

New to the MPIfG Books series is the recently published book by Moisés Kopper, Architectures of Hope (University of Michigan Press, 2022), which examines how communal idealism, electoral politics, and low-income consumer markets have made first-time homeownership a reality for millions of low-income Brazilians over the last ten years. In his book, the author interrogates the value systems and novel arrangements of power and market that underlie the country’s post-neoliberal project of modern and inclusive development. Moisés Kopper is currently working at the Laboratoire d’Anthropologie des Mondes Contemporains in Brussels. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the MPIfG between 2017 and 2019.
