Research Network in Political Economy Workshop
The Research Network in Political Economy convened at the MPIfG on November 24 and 25 of this year for a two-day workshop, the network’s first event since it was initiated by Lucio Baccaro and Marius R. Busemeyer (University of Konstanz). The aim of the initiative is to help institutionalize political economy as a distinct academic field and encourage academic exchange in Europe and elsewhere. Twenty-five researchers met at the workshop to discuss topics including challenges for the welfare state of digitalization, climate change, and the green transformation, the problems of social inequality and questions of redistribution and growth, and new perspectives on taxation and the development of social policy. Plans for continuing the workshop series were also discussed.
