Timur Ergen Is JFK Memorial Fellow

October 25, 2022

Timur Ergen has been awarded a prestigious JFK Memorial Fellowship and is spending ten months at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES) from September of this year. As a social scientist, Ergen is primarily interested in the interactions between economic, social, and technological change. During his stay at the CES he will investigate how deindustrialization problems have been represented in different societies on the other side of the Atlantic. He will show in his work how the debates in Germany and the United States have diverged since the late 1960s and track their trajectories in four policy fields – antitrust, fiscal, industrial, and trade. Timur Ergen has been a senior researcher at the MPIfG since receiving his doctorate at the IMPRS-SPCE in 2014.
