Kathleen Griesbach Takes Up Post at University of Texas

Kathleen Griesbach is joining the University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Sociology this August as assistant professor of sociology. The department is ranked in the top ten among public universities in the USA. As a postdoc in Jens Beckert’s Economic Sociology Project Area at the MPIfG, Griesbach worked from 2020 to 2022 on her project “Positional Uncertainty: Contingent Workers Seeking a Place in Unstable Times.” Her main research interests include labor and inequality, the future of work, economic sociology, and migration and globalization.
