New Visiting Researchers in Summer Semester 2025

The MPIfG welcomes five international scholars to Cologne as visiting researchers in the summer semester of 2025. Antoine Jourdan from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris is working on his project “The Institutions of Concertation: A Sectoral Approach to French Planning,” in which he examines the institutional dimensions of French planning policy. Two Chilean scholars will be coming to the Institute from Latin America: Mauricio Pino Andrade from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile is researching “The Politics of Green Transformation in National Oil Companies,” while Sebastián Caviedes Hamuy from the Facultad de Ciencias Sociales at Universidad de Chile is working on a project entitled “Chilean Business Rationalities in the Field of Economic Futures Studies: Analytical-Theoretical Strengthening and Academic Collaboration.” US scholar Fred Shaia from Brown University is analyzing the role of the Global South in the emergence of international climate regimes between 1972 and 2022; his research project is entitled “Equity in a Warming World: The Global South and the Making of the International Climate Regime, 1972–2022.” Completing the group of visiting scholars for this semester is Valentina Ausserladscheider from the University of Vienna with the project “Future of Regional Growth Models Under Vulnerable Climate Conditions.” All stays will run from the beginning of May to the end of July 2025.
