Annual Meeting of MPIfG Trustees

The MPIfG Board of Trustees met in Cologne for its annual meeting in February 2025. Chaired by Michael Hüther of the German Economic Institute IW, the meeting was attended by Patrick Bernau (FAS), Witich Roßmann (DGB-Stadtverband Cologne), Andrea Blome (City of Cologne), Martin Börschel (NRW.BANK Düsseldorf), and Andrea Kienle (NRW Ministry of Culture and Science). MPG Secretary General Simone Schwanitz also reported on news from the Society’s administrative headquarters and on current developments in the organization. A special item on the agenda was group leader Isabell Stamm’s lecture on the wealth elite, “Geschlossene Gesellschaft: Themen und Konventionen der Eigentumselite.” The Board of Trustees’ role is to support and encourage the exchange of information between the MPIfG and the public and to advise the Institute’s management on this and related issues. Its members represent the fields of science and research, media, politics, and business.
