Lisa Suckert Joins the University of Antwerp

Lisa Suckert, who has been a senior researcher in the MPIfG’s Economic Sociology Research Area since 2016, joined the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Antwerp in mid-November. As associate professor of social theory and cultural sociology in UAntwerp’s Department of Sociology, she teaches general and cultural sociology while continuing to pursue her main research interests to date. Situated at the intersection of economic sociology and political sociology, her research focuses in particular on the political, social, and cultural constitution of contemporary capitalism. She is currently working on temporality and future imaginaries in crises, particularly in capitalist societies, and on the role of economic imagination in decarbonization processes. Lisa Suckert will continue to work at the MPIfG as a visiting researcher until the end of January 2025.
