Melike Arslan Joins Loughborough University
In August this year, Melike Arslan will take up a post as a lecturer at the Institute for International Management of Loughborough University London. A sociologist, who has been a postdoctoral researcher in Jens Beckert’s Economic Sociology Research Area since 2022, Arslan focuses in her research on the legal and regulatory infrastructure of market economies in comparative and international perspective. She is currently investigating variations in the implementation of competition laws in emerging market economies, particularly Turkey and Mexico, as well as the influence of globalization on competition consultancy professions. She is also involved in two collaborative projects on subsidy policies and long-term planning for global climate change. Prior to joining the MPIfG, Melike Arslan was a postdoctoral fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. She earned her PhD at Northwestern University in 2021.
