MPIfG Publication Series
The MPIfG’s publication series are an important means of scholarly communication for researchers at the Institute. The MPIfG Books series features monographs aimed at the scientific community and practitioners in government, business, associations, and independent bodies; MPIfG Discussion Papers report on research results in current projects; and MPIfG Journal Articles are papers by the Institute’s researchers and visiting scholars that have been published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
MPIfG Books are monographs and edited volumes based on research projects conducted at the MPIfG. Published by German and international presses, these books are aimed at a wide professional readership. They reflect the Institute’s research methods and wide-ranging interests in sociology and political science. Since 1987, the MPIfG has had its own book series with Campus; the majority of the books are in German. Proposals to publish in the series are subject to internal and external peer review.

MPIfG Discussion Papers present results from ongoing research and contribute to current scholarly and public debate. They are subject to internal peer review. Copies are free to order from the Institute or download as PDF files.

Articles by MPIfG researchers that have previously been published in peer-reviewed journals are published online in the MPIfG Journal Articles series. The series also includes articles by visiting scholars that originate during their stay at the Institute.
