Airports and getting to Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel

Warsaw is served by two airports: the Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) and the Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI). To get to the workshop venue and to the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel from WAW, take a taxi, which should not exceed 40 złotys (around 9 Euros). Make sure to use an airport-licenced cab, clearly marked in the arrivals area. These accept Visa and Mastercard. Depending on the traffic, the trip could take 25-40 minutes. Alternatively, take the 175 bus to the second last stop, Uniwersytet, for the workshop venue, or the last stop, Pl. Piłsudskiego, for the hotel. You can buy bus tickets in the machine at the bus stop. Depending on the traffic, the trip could take 35-45 minutes. If you arrive at WMI, contact us to arrange the trip for you.

The Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel and the workshop venue Pałac Staszica are within walking distance (10 mins). Leaving the hotel, take a right onto Królewska street, and then another right onto Krakowskie Przedmieście, a part of Warsaw’s royal route. You won’t be able to miss Pałac Staszica, pictured below, right behind the statue of Copernicus. Go to room 006 on the ground floor for the workshop. Take the stairs up to the first floor for Prof. Jens Beckert’s lecture.
