Be a Guest at the MPIfG

The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) is a place where researchers from around the world can meet, discuss, and work together. Its Visiting Researchers Program brings fresh ideas to the Institute’s research and provides opportunities for interdisciplinary and international networking.
Leading scholars in comparative and international political economy or economic sociology spend several months as Scholars in Residence at the Institute.
Journalists working in local or national media who regularly cover academic topics or topics in politics, society, or the economy immerse themselves in a chosen project in a dialog with the researchers as Journalists in Residence.

The MPIfG considers international cooperation to be the most promising organizational form of comparative research. Many visiting researchers make valuable contributions to its research program.
The MPIfG is part of a worldwide network of research institutions and researchers working in the social sciences. It cooperates closely with several research institutes abroad.
