New researchers in fall 2020

Arianna Tassinari joined the MPIfG as a Senior Researcher in October 2020. Previously she was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. Her research at the MPIfG will focus on the political economy of post-crisis growth trajectories in the EU periphery. Her work will be part of the project area Political Economy of Growth Models led by Lucio Baccaro.

Kathleen Griesbach, previously at Columbia University, started her work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute in October. Her work explores the precarious working conditions of contingent workers in the agricultural and oil sector and their struggles in the face of job instability. Georg Rilinger, formerly at the University of Chicago, also took up his post as a postdoctoral researcher at the MPIfG. His research topic is the prospects and limits of market design as centralized planning. Both researchers joined the project area Sociology of Markets led by Jens Beckert.

The MPIfG also welcomed Christoph Rausch, Associate Professor at University College Maastricht, to the Institute as a visiting researcher. During his stay in October and November, he will work on his book about the emergence and proliferation of freeports for art storage and the financialization of art as an investment.
