Ariane Leendertz receives Research Fellowship from Historisches Kolleg

Ariane Leendertz has been awarded a Research Fellowship by the Historisches Kolleg in Munich. During the 2018/19 academic year she will be working on social complexity, global interdependencies, and the transformation of statehood in the late twentieth century and exploring how the role of the state and concepts of governance in the USA changed in the post-boom period between the late 1960s and late 1980s. Her study looks at the role of key categories and theories in social science and associated diagnoses, constructions of reality, and approaches to governance in politics. The Fellowship is funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation. Ariane Leendertz has headed the Research Group on the Economization of the Social and the History of Complexity at the MPIfG since 2014.
