The conference is being organized by Jens Beckert, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, and Patrik Aspers, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and University of Stockholm.
Arrival at the Villa Vigoni will be in the afternoon of Sunday, June 14. The conference will start in the morning of Monday, June 15, and end on Wednesday, June 17, with a joint lunch.
The focus of the conference will be on discussions. Conference papers will be made available to all participants six weeks before the conference. Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes. Discussion will start with a prepared comment from another conference participant. Altogether there will be 75 minutes time for each paper.
Given the importance of the topic in current scholarship the organizers plan to edit a volume comprising the (revised) papers and possibly some additional chapters for submission to a leading academic press.
