States and Markets

Workshop 2
 

Cologne, March 25-27, 2009

Sciences Po’s research institutes CSO, CEVIPOF and CERI and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies jointly organize a series of workshops on the topic “States and Markets." The first workshop (download PDF program) was held in Paris on 3-5 December 2008 and dealt with the social foundations of markets, socio-economic orders and change and transnational institution-building. These themes will be continued during the second workshop, with a particular emphasis on capitalist dynamics, law and democracy, the spatial organization of economic activity, the role of firms in the global economy and market mechanisms, especially in contexts of uncertainty.
