The aim of this project is to identify and address the most basic questions of sociology. The project starts, tentatively, with two concepts, order and being.

Construction and order in markets:
The global garment industry

The aim of this project is to develop theoretical distinctions of types of markets. This is done empirically in the field of the global garment industry, and its markets.

 

Markets

I am currently writing a general book on markets that take not only sociology but also anthropology and economic research into account.

 

Theory, meaning, and ethnography

The aim of this project is to develop research methods and strategies that put theories at the centre but which provide explanations based on understanding.
The book Ethnograpic Methods is one outcome of this project.

 

Phenomenological sociology

The aim of this project is to investigate the role of phenomenology for the social sciences. The original focus on Husserl and Schütz has gradully been shifted to Heidegger.
