Welcome to my webpage!

I am a quantitative economic sociologist with interests in political sociology, social inequality research, and organizational theory. My research largely focuses on social structures in economic life. Currently, I'm analyzing the emergence of extreme inequalities in markets, so-called winner-take all structures.

I am head of a recently established Max Planck Research Group on the sociology of diffusion at the MPIfG. With the research group, I aim to look at factors that influence and shape the spread of innovations among individuals, networks, organizations, and societies.

I studied sociology, psychology, and statistics and was a doctoral student at the International Max Planck Research School on the Social and Political Constitution of the Economy. I received my Doctorate from University of Duisburg-Essen, and have held visiting fellowships at Harvard University, Science-Po Paris, and ETH Zurich.
