Constructing Quality: The Classification of Goods in the Economy

Questions of the classification of goods have played an important role within the sociological tradition. More recently they have also gained attention in the field of economic sociology. Informed by the international debates on this issue, several studies on the construction of quality in markets have been conducted by researchers at the MPIfG and Sciences Po in Paris. The results of these projects - along with contributions by other authors - will be published in an edited volume covering several subthemes of the topic from a variety of perspectives. An introduction by the editors will acquaint the reader with the field of the construction of quality in markets. Project duration: May 2011 to July 2013.
