What do I find here?
is the Library’s new search portal. With just one query, you have access to the physical
and electronic media in the Library’s collection as well as to a wide range of metadata
and sources in external databases, including full texts (as licenses permit)..
The e-library interface enables you to search all of these sources at one time,
giving you access to some nine million records:
the Library’s collection of books, book chapters and journal articles (MPIfG Library
the ebook library of the Max Planck Society (MPG eBooks)
some 7 million articles from the fields of sociology, political science, economics,
and law via the Online Contents database (OLC – journal articles)
Links to our databases like EBSCO, Web of Science, statistical sources
JSTOR und Econstor
Publication database of the Max Planck Society including publications by MPIfG
researchers (Institutional Repository)
We plan to provide access to a wider variety of sources in the future.
How it works
When you put your search into the search window, you decide whether you want to search
in "all fields" or whether you just want to look at titles, authors, or call numbers.
An "advanced search" enables you to filter your search if you want.
Titles will be sorted according to how closely they relate to the search term you’ve entered,
with the most relevant being shown first. You can re-sort the titles according to other criteria,
such as the year of publication. It is easy to use filters to pare down big search result lists.
The availability of books from the library’s physical collection is indicated by green or red dots.
The availability of electronic sources is shown in the title record or can be determined using
links in the bibliographical details or by using our SFX link .
If the full-text is not available online, you can request the article via SFX through our Interlibrary Loan.
