Conference: "Is the engine of liberalization stalling?"

In January 2018, the project group "European Economic and Social Integration" held a meeting at the MPIfG. In discussing the key question of "Is the engine of liberalization stalling?" researchers from various institutions examined the state of the art of the reforms to the Economic and Monetary Union, for example with regard to the emerging Capital Markets Union. Additionally, several talks addressed the European Free Movement of Persons and its impacts on the the social systems of member states. The group aims to enable cooperation between research projects that examine European integration from a political economy perspective and expects to run for several years. Taking part is the MPIfG research group "The Political Economy of European Integration", two research projects from the University of Bremen, one from the University of Tübingen, and one from the European Policies research unit of the Institute of Economic and Social Research (WSI).
