Tim Bartley Is Scholar in Residence 2017

Tim Bartley, Associate Professor of Sociology at the Ohio State University, will be the MPIfG Scholar in Residence as of May 2017. During his stay in Cologne, he will give a series of lectures on the topic of "Rules and Rights in the Global Economy." In the lectures, he will discuss projects on transnational and global regulation and their impact on the manufacturing sector, employees, the environment, and social groups with the goal of developing a new theory of transnational governance. The lectures will take place on May 9, 16, and 30, 2017 at the MPIfG. Each year the MPIfG invites a leading scholar from the political, economic, or social sciences to spend three to six months at the Institute.
