Wolfgang Streeck Honored for Contribution to Public Understanding of Sociology
The German Sociological Association (GSA) has named Wolfgang Streeck as the recipient of its 2012 "Public Understanding of Sociology Award". The award was presented at the opening of the 36th GSA Congress on October 1, 2012 in Bochum. Streeck has been recognized for his "substantial achievements in promoting sociology's public image". Past recipients include Jan-Phillip Reemtsma, Karl Otto Hondrich, and Ulrich Beck.
