Martin Höpner has received the Wolfgang Kaupen Award of the German Sociological Association (DGS) for his article about an actor-centered explanation of the European Court of Justice as the engine of European Integration ("Der Europäische Gerichtshof als Motor der europäischen Integration: Eine akteursbezogene Erklärung," Berliner Journal für Soziologie 21/2011). The award is conferred by the Sociology of Law Section of the DGS for the best journal article in the field of the sociology of law in the previous year. Articles are chosen that highlight the empirical and theoretical potential of the field. The award will be presented at the 2012 DGS Congress in Bochum.
