A third and final workshop, held in March 2011, brought to an end the MPIfG-coordinated research project "Institutional Change in the Regulation of Financial Markets." Under the leadership of Renate Mayntz, researchers from Europe and the US have spent the past two years examining changes taking place in the regulation of financial markets. By studying transnational bodies and specific regulatory sectors such as rating agencies, the project's researchers have helped draw up a full picture of the highly complex processes involved in the global regulation of financial markets. Beyond this, the project has also initiated an inter-disciplinary network of researchers to work on financial market issues and to provide a basis for future cooperation. The findings of the project are to be published by Campus in 2012.
