Ipek Göcmen was awarded her doctorate from the University of Cologne in February 2011. In her dissertation, "The Politics of Religiously Motivated Welfare Provision," she investigated the resurgence of religion as an instigator and sponsor of social policy. Ipek Göcmen is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the MPIfG.
