On October 15, 2009, the MPIfG opened its annual art exhibit, this year entitled "Fleeting Moments" and featuring paintings by Ellen Dederichs. Dederichs was born in 1982 and studies at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. Her work looks at people in society, playing with the contrasts between crowds and individuals, movement and idleness, details and the big picture. The exhibit closed on November 20. Every fall, the MPIfG hosts an art exhibit featuring an artist from the Rhineland.
