North Rhine-Westphalia’s Commission on the Future submitted its final report to Minister-President Jürgen Rüttgers on April 20, 2009. Convened in May 2008, the commission made up of twenty-two experts from business, academia and politics had one year to develop its proposals for "North Rhine-Westphalia in 2025" regarding innovation, solidarity, education, growth, employment, integration and quality of life. Lord Ralf Dahrendorf, who currently is a visiting researcher at the MPIfG, headed up the commission of which Wolfgang Streeck was also a member.
