Capitalism in Time
Laudatio in honor of Wolfgang Streeck upon his retirement in October 2014
"Dynamic. Creative. Restless. Risk-taking." These are words that, according to Kathleen Thelen, not only describe capitalism but also the scholar who in his unique way has dedicated decades to understanding it.
Kathleen Thelen is Ford Professor of Political Science at MIT. Her work focuses on the origins and evolution of political-economic institutions in the rich democracies, with an emphasis on labor market institutions (education and training, industrial relations, labor market and social policy). Since 2005 she has been an External Scientific Member at the MPIfG.
